Buy here only if you're in no hurry (2009-07-01)
Geez, Amazon! Twelve days from order to delivery for a tiny box that was supposedly in stock. Amazon's delivery performance has been deteriorating of late. Had to cancel the MacBook order (also "in stock" at time of order on the 18th) when they said it wouldn't ship until July (MacConnection got it here in three days). WHAT's going on at Amazon!!!


Always buy this for my Macs (2009-07-01)
I love my Mac laptops, and equally adore AppleCare. These warranties have taken care of many small repairs, and the occasional significant repair on my iBooks and MacBooks.

The service is even more convenient now that I have an Apple Store nearby. I backup my system, show up for my appointment, and either have the repair done immediately, or within a few days. I've never paid an additional fee, and the customer service has been outstanding.

My most recent repair was a touchpad and spacebar that were becoming increasingly difficult to press, clicking, missing, and not working right. In two days, they were replaced, without fuss or bother, and none of the $185 bill either.

AppleCare transfers to the new owner if you sell your laptop (and I find this increases the resale value, as well as the buyer's assurance). To me, it's an essential part of my Apple system.


Great support (2009-06-29)
I called AppleCare about a year after I purchased it with my new IMAC. I was pissed because I discovered that a few months after I made the purchase similar models included ILife '09. Though I had much of those programs, features were missing. After a short chat I was transferred to Sales where I presented my case. Apple agreed to gift me ILife 09. Now "that's a way to run an airline!"


GREAT purchase (2009-06-27)
Over the life of my Mac, I have had a few issues. One was that the CD drive went out. When I sent in my mac they replaced the optical drive, plus the plastic keyboard cover that had started chipping and threw in a new battery just because. These repairs and the new battery much more than paid for Apple Care. It's really, really worth it.


Awesome customer service (2009-05-14)
It was a big step to switch from my PC to an apple. 1.5 years later I am so glad I did I will never go back. And then my experience got even better. My computer power cord broke. I called apple care. they diagnosed the problem over the phone. I had a same day appointment to get a replacement. And, while I was at the appointment I expressed a concern about a couple of the keys on the keypad not feeling right. They tested it. They didn't notice it. But, they wanted to make sure I was totally happy so they replaced my entire keyboard--free (under apple care warranty). Wow, I've had PC's break in the past and it was always a NIGHTMARE to diagnose/fix. Like I said, I was already happy with MAC but after having used my Apple Care I can say I am more delighted than ever. I thanked the customer service person for helping me and she said, "no, thank you for allowing me to help you". Never heard that before.

Apple takes care of their customers and this protection plan is very helpful when you have laptops because anything can go wrong.
